2019 Earth Day Beach Clean Up
The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island will host a beach cleanup on Saturday, April 13th from 8 to 10 am. This free family-friendly event will feature prizes for the most cigarette butts collected, a tag an eco-buddy photo contest, and information sessions provided by the Choctawhatchee Basic Alliance all in a safe and fun beach-front environment.
Please take a minute to follow the directions below. We ask that you print your forms to bring with you already signed to allow for an easier morning at the cleanup. If you intend to join us for the after-party breakfast at The Crab Trap, please pre-register on the Eventbrite as it will allow us to make sure we have enough breakfast for everyone attending! The links for the forms and the Eventbrite are below.
Registration day of the event will begin at 8 am on the deck under The Crab Trap at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. Please ensure that you do register for the cleanup as volunteers will be straying into the military land along the beachfront. All cleanup materials will be provided, including gloves, bags, and water for hydrating. Event shirts will be given to volunteers on a first come first serve basis.
The Crab Trap will provide complimentary breakfast of pancakes, sausage, bacon, orange juice, and coffee after the cleanup to all volunteers, sponsored by the S.E.A. campaign. S.E.A. is a local Saltwater Restaurant initiative that helps support programs that protect and preserve our beaches.
