

International Coastal Beach Cleanup Information:
In collaboration with Okaloosa County, Saltwater Restaurants, The City of Destin, Florida State Parks, Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, Wet Inc., The Island Pier, and The Gulfarium will be hosting an International Coastal Cleanup Week from September 18th through September 26th.
International Coastal Cleanup Kick-Off
Saturday, September 18th
8:00 am - 11:00 am
6 host locations along the Emerald Coast:

1) The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island, FWB; 2) Norriego Point, Destin; 3) Mattie Kelly Park & Joe’s Bayou, Destin;
4) Henderson Beach State Park, Destin; 5) The Crab Trap, Destin; and 6) The Surf Hut, Miramar Beach.
Free event t-shirt will be available at each host location for the International Coastal Cleanup Kick-Off on a first-come, first-serve basis. Enjoy coastal cleanup activities and fun, including a prize for the most cigarette butts collected! Following the cleanup kick-off, a limited complimentary pancake breakfast will be available at select host locations. Pre-registered cleanup participants will receive a complimentary pancake breakfast at select host locations.
What do you need to bring?
Help us conserve and reduce additional waste and B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Bucket), & cleanup equipment:

Bucket or mesh bag for debris

Reusable hand gloves or garden gloves (or trash pickers!)

Reusable water bottle
Don't forget to protect yourself with sunscreen and sunglasses! A water dispenser and hand sanitizers will be available.
Weeklong DIY Int'l Coastal Cleanup
Sunday, September 19th through Saturday, September 25th
Clean-up participants are encouraged to clean up their favorite coastal spots along with Okaloosa County, and post pictures of their efforts for a chance to win a prize.
Island Pier Dive Coastal Cleanup
Sunday, September 26th
6 am – 12 pm.
Participants interested in this must contact The Island Pier or The Gulfarium.
